Volunteers in our Emergency Department provide non-clinical assistance to patients and their families in the waiting room and in treatment areas. Duties include comforting families, providing patient advocacy, making up gurneys, restocking supply carts, etc.

Please note this class is for volunteer placement at our non-trauma ER Departments at the following CPMC locations:

• Pacific Campus, 2333 Buchanan St.
• Davies Campus, 45 Castro @ Duboce
• St. Luke’s Campus, 3555 Cesar Chavez St.

Placement as a volunteer in our Emergency Department is not guaranteed by attending the ED training. Assignments to our Emergency Department are based on the results of a personal interview and the volunteer’s availability.
